La Compagnie du Théâtre National Daniel Sorano a été inaugurée le 17 juillet 1965 par le président Léopold Sédar Senghor. Elle a été créée par la loi n°66-62 du 30 juin 1966 sous la forme d’un établissement public à caractère administratif). Elle a été transformée en établissement public à caractère industriel et commercial par la loi n°2017-34 du 21 juillet 2017.
La Compagnie du Théâtre National Daniel Sorano (TNDS), considérée comme la scène nationale la plus prestigieuse au Sénégal, est, en même temps, une salle de 1128 places située à Dakar centre.

ENSEMBLE LYRIQUE TRADITIONNEL
Formerly called traditional instrumental ensemble, the Traditional lyrical group is a set turned specifically towards the song and traditional music. It brings together the largest voices and the best instrumentalists in Senegal. Its repertoire is vast, rich and varied and is renewed every year as the ancients go to the retirement and that new and young talents take over.

02.
BALLET NATIONAL LA LINGUERE
It is as old as the National Theater Company Daniel Sorano. Besides, it presented her first production on the day of the theater inauguration, on the 17th July 1965. « The Daughter of the Gods » by Abdou Anta Ka put into scene by Maurice Sonar Senghor, was played at this occasion. The dramatic national troop is illustrated in all genres: drama, social satire, comedy, historical frescoes, entertainment … Also, it is at the same time: an environmental theater rooted in Senegalese and African cultural values, an opening on the world, a research theater reconciling tradition and modernity which started with draw on his heritage and then explore the inexhaustible universal repertoire.

LA TROUPE NATIONAL DRAMATIQUE
Le Ballet National « La Linguère » (The national ballet named « La Linguère »)
Created in 1960, the National Ballet of Senegal comes from the former African ballet of the Federation of Mali. The main ethnic groups of Senegal are represented there, thus reflecting the true face of the country.
On March 1961, the National Ballet of Senegal began its first international tour. It will later become the National Ballet « La Linguère » The National Ballet « La Linguère » with the main ethnic groups in Senegal carried the songs, legends and music of Senegal on the stages of more than 50 countries of Europe, America, Africa and Asia …The national ballet « La Linguère » participated in several national and international festivals in Dakar, Alger, Carthage, Edinburgh and Berlin where he has won several trophies including gold and silver medals.
